PVD coated stainless steel square tube brings a durable colour to architectural metalwork without the flaking, fading and fingerprint problems of paint or powder coating. The tube is first polished to a mirror 8K or a fine hairline finish, cleaned in a multi stage ultrasonic line, then loaded into a vacuum chamber where titanium or zirconium targets are evaporated in a reactive nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting ceramic film, between 0.3 and 1.0 micron thick, bonds at the atomic level to the stainless substrate, so it bends and cuts with the tube instead of peeling away from it.
Because the colour is a hard ceramic rather than an organic coating, it holds its tone under ultraviolet exposure and does not chalk in coastal sun. Gold, black titanium, champagne, rose gold, bronze and gunmetal are the most requested tones, and the same chamber can produce a brushed or mirror base so designers can match the tube to elevator doors, column cladding and signage in the same lobby.

The main use is interior architectural metalwork: balustrade posts and handrails in hotels and shopping centres, lift door surrounds and cabin trims, column cladding in lobbies, shopfront frames, display fixtures and furniture legs. Designers use the black titanium and gunmetal tones where they want the weight and feel of metal without the glare of polished steel, and gold or rose gold where the scheme calls for warmth. Because the film is thin and hard, the tube can still be cut, mitred and welded on site with the coated face protected, and small weld areas can be touched in with matching repair compound.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceEvery tube is sleeved in protective PE film, then packed with PE foam interlayers in plywood crates so that coated faces never touch each other in transit. Bundles are labelled with colour code, batch number and coating direction. We supply a colour sample board, adhesion and salt spray test reports, and a five year colour stability warranty for interior applications. Replacement tubes for site damage are held in stock in the six standard colours.
