6101-T6 round aluminum bar is a heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy formulated for electrical current carrying applications that also demand real structural strength. With a guaranteed minimum electrical conductivity of 55% IACS combined with roughly twice the mechanical strength of 1350 conductor alloy, 6101-T6 lets engineers build bus bar systems, switchgear connections and distribution hardware that are both compact and mechanically robust. The T6 temper delivers stable properties over the full service life without the softness of fully annealed conductor material.
Bars are extruded and artificially aged under controlled conditions, then straightened to the tight straightness required for long bus bar runs. Every lot is conductivity tested with eddy current instruments and tensile tested to confirm that both electrical and mechanical guarantees are met before the material leaves our warehouse.

6101-T6 round aluminum bar is used for substation bus bar, switchgear conductors, transformer connections, generator leads, rectifier bus work and electrical distribution risers in commercial and industrial buildings. The growing electric vehicle charging and battery energy storage industries also specify this alloy for high current DC bus bars where low weight, high conductivity and dimensional accuracy are equally important. Fabricators machine connector pads, drill bolt holes and apply compression terminals directly on this bar with standard tooling.
Processing ServicesWe provide cut-to-length bars, drilled and tapped connector blanks, CNC machined bus bar profiles and tin plated contact versions. Bars can be supplied with rounded or chamfered edges to simplify installation handling. Conductivity certificates and mechanical test reports accompany every delivery, and sampling for third party laboratory verification can be arranged on request.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceBars are wrapped in protective paper and packed in fumigation-free wooden crates with adequate supports to prevent bending during transport. For plated material, additional anti-abrasion layers protect the finished contact surfaces. Our quality system follows ISO 9001 requirements, and each production lot is checked for conductivity, tensile strength and dimensional compliance before release.
